Confidentiality

Confidentiality

We will not communicate any personal information about you or your child, directly or indirectly, without your informed and written consent. For example, we cannot discuss or release any information to your child’s school without your written consent. There are four exceptions to this client-therapist confidentiality which include legal, and/or ethical obligations to disclose :

  1. If you (or your child) pose an immediate and serious risk to yourself or if you (or your child) pose an imminent and serious risk to someone else.
  2. If you (or your child) disclose that a child is being abused or is at risk of harm
  3. If you (or your child) disclose that a health professional sexually abused or sexually harassed you (or your child).
  4. If there is a court order to release a client’s file.
